What does Relaxing mean to you?

Just recently I’ve had to stop and just be… as I get older it seems the body speaks with a louder voice. If I overdo it, the body shows me in different ways… a pain in the tummy, nerve pain, a slight headache.

Can you relate?

So what can we do to know when to stop before the body yells at us to slow down… Here are just a few that I find help me.

  1. Breathing… In this simple, powerful technique, you take long, slow, deep breaths (also known as abdominal or belly breathing).
  2. Meditation… Research suggests it may be helpful for people with anxiety, depression, and pain.
  3. Walking/Exercising… being one with nature, whether walking along the beach or a country stroll through nature, some form of exercise each day can be very beneficial for allowing our bodies to relax and enjoy the great outdoors.

Instagram, Me, Memories and Doing Better

Who would have thought that I would be doing Instagram, but here I am sharing some of my photos with you all. Going through older photos can bring a smile on ones face and also a few tears of those not with us anymore. I love to see how I’ve grown through the years. Writing my book allowed me to release so much pain and hurt, the layers released has taken some time, but in saying that everything we grow through brings a strength from deep within. You can only make the choices today with the knowledge you have today. I love the message here…

Do We Openly Communicate Enough?

heart-2One of the biggest things that society or the media tries to make us do… is not talk about things, openly communicate… we are told to build a bridge… harden the F up… get over it, but in actual fact the only way we can begin to heal is to communicate…

People are hurting. What does it take to say a kind word to a stranger… to help someone in need (without expecting something in return) to think about those less fortunate than ourselves… if we all started to apply these things in our lives… well there would be a huge shift for humanity… love each other for who we are… and treat each other the way we like to be treated…

Listen with intent, because that one person just might need a Continue reading

Empathy Overload

I was told this week that I may suffer Empathy Overload… Really!!! is there such a thing?

Can one person truly care too much?

Part of  our design as humans is we have an ability to empathise with people who are suffering within our own society.

“Empathy is necessary for compassion” – So how are we able to care and not take on what seems to be overwhelm? It seems that by experiencing quite horrific things in our lifetime has us feeling from the depths of our souls and this total overload of empathy is something we can not seem to control. So what I’ve learnt is that we need to find other ways to take our minds away from those sad experiences happening around us, In our community and also on a Global scale. Being able to empathise is a good thing… as long as we Continue reading
