Everyone Wants to Live on Top of the Mountain, But All the Happiness and Growth Occur While You’re Climbing It!

There’s something magical about mountaintops. They symbolize success, achievement, and a panoramic view that seems to make the struggle worthwhile. No wonder we chase that summit feeling, promotion at work, personal milestones, or life goals checked off. We dream about the day we “arrive.”

But let’s talk about the climb.

The climb is where we grow. It’s where the lessons are learned, we get stronger, and character is forged. The summit is fleeting; the journey is enduring. When you’re in the thick of it, figuring things out, falling and getting back up, that’s where the real story unfolds.

Think about the toughest challenges you’ve faced. Were they pleasant? Probably not. But weren’t they also the most formative? That job you didn’t get, the relationship that didn’t work out, the project that pushed you to your limits, those moments shaped you.

The climb teaches us patience. It humbles us. It builds resilience, empathy, and a deeper appreciation for success when it finally comes. And oddly enough, when you’re fully present during the climb, you start to find joy in it, joy in progress, in effort, in becoming.

So yes, the mountaintop is a great view. But don’t miss the beauty in the climb. That’s where life happens. That’s where you happen.

Love,
