Christmas… What Does It Mean To You?

So Christmas has just come and gone again for another year. I felt I needed to share some of what this time of year has me feeling and what I've observed from others.

Christmas a time of giving… not just gifts that cost the earth. I know personally I do not want for gifts that are bought from the shops, instead I love to see my children and granddaughter happy and blessed. Through social media we were able to speak and see each other early on Christmas morning. This brought me great joy.

I loved sending Christmas blessings to my family and friends on Facebook. However, I know there are many who do not like Christmas, as they are alone, or miss a loved one who can not be with them, or a parent or loved one in heaven. The true meaning for me is to share with these people, lift them when possible, so they too can feel love <3

We can help in so many ways to make this time of year a blessing for others. After visiting our elderly neighbours to gift them some homemade goodies, we found out they too would be spending Christmas day alone. My son and I decided how wonderful it would be to ask them to come to our home and share Christmas lunch with us… and what a blessing it was for us all. The true spirit of Christmas is sharing with love.

As I write this the heavens have opened up and gifted us with much needed rain, as many experience fires that burn out of control and have lost so much, I pray they are also blessed with rain. Lots and lots of beautiful, cleansing rain. After much drought in so much of Australia, the rain brings with it a joy, a feeling of hope.

So let's think about how we can help others, what can we do as we approach a brand New Year? Let's not wait for next week, let's not wait till we have more money, more time… let's start today.

A smile, a hug, a hello, a helping hand, a thank you. these are the many things we can do right now. We all have ‘stuff' going on in our lives… so let's take the focus off of us/I and change it to WE, because that's where the real human experience lays. That's where the real Joy is.

I want to take this opportunity to send you all Love and Joy and as we head toward this New Year and send blessings to you all.

I'm humbled and grateful for the year that was.
